A place that bears witness to human ingenuity
The historic reservoir of the Canal du Midi, the Saint-Ferréol basin is the central point of the canal's water supply system. Along with the dam, the gutters and the Galerie des Robinets, it bears witness to one of the most monumental achievements of the reign of Louis XIV.
LE RESERVOIR is dedicated to the discovery of this exceptional work, the Canal du Midi, and to its brilliant designer, Pierre-Paul Riquet.
This is the most complete presentation of the history of the Canal du Midi.
LE RESERVOIR traces the history of the Canal du Midi from the origins of the project in the mid-17th century to the end of inland waterway transport in the 1980s.
Housed in the Maison de l'Ingénieur, the presentation of this work is structured around showcases, objects, models, films...

LE RESERVOIR offers several possibilities for discovery, depending on the time you have available.
