The RESERVOIR, a discovery area on the Canal du Midi
Come and learn more about dams with the current exhibition "Dams, domesticating water" during European Museum Night.
The current exhibition will shed light on the Saint-Ferréol dam. First impounded in 1673, it is now France's oldest working dam at 32 meters high. On the occasion of the 350th anniversary of its construction, LE RESERVOIR, the Canal du Midi's discovery area, looks back at the history of these giants of stone, earth and concrete, which today dot our landscapes. Through this exhibition, we question the role and place of these structures in our territories, as well as our relationship with water in a context where "blue gold" is more precious than ever.
Guided by Béber, the engineer beaver, this little character will follow you throughout the visit, making it easier for children to get to grips with the subject.
